A random collection of over 1910 books and audiobooks authored by or about my transgender, intersex sisters, and gender-nonconforming persons all over the world. I read some of them, and I was inspired by some of them. I met some of the authors and heroines, some of them are my best friends, and I had the pleasure and honor of interviewing some of them. If you know of any transgender biography that I have not covered yet, please let me know.

Camila Sosa Villada - Loše djevojke

"Loše djevojke" (Bad Girls) is the Croatian language edition of "Las malas" (The Bad Girls) published in Argentina in 2019 by Camila Sosa Villada.

From the Argentine author Camila Sosa Villada, a book of love and affection: when we finish the last page, we want the whole world to read it too! When she arrived in the city of Córdoba to study at the university, Argentine author Camila Sosa Villada decided to go to Parque Sarmiento during the night. She was scared to death, thinking that the brutal verdict she had heard from her father could come to fruition at any moment: "One day they will knock on this door to warn me that they found you dead, thrown into a ditch." For him, this was the only possible destination for a boy who dressed as a woman.

Sonja Hranjec - Dva tjedna prije Trećeg svjetskog rata

Original title: "Dva tjedna prije Trećeg svjetskog rata" (Two weeks before the Third World War) by Sonja Hranjec.

Sonja Hranjec's first novel, which through the protagonist Matija counting down fourteen days, rushes towards an apocalyptic end. In doing so, she lucidly combines traumatic and creative traits from her life, and her own experience of social and cultural aggression towards her transgender "metamorphosis", leading us through the life of Zagreb's punk subculture.

The experiences of a young woman in gender transition abound in violence to which she is constantly exposed. She skilfully uses these "unconscious" states to overcome the two-week time frame and evoke childhood and growing up, but also to analyze the imposed social and cultural framework. Escaping into the life of the subculture opens up a creative space filled with music, play, and strong rebellion. The novel abounds in vivid and authentic dialogues that vividly depict Matija's relationship both with the actors and with herself.

Jennifer Finney Boylan - Bez nje: život u dva spola

"Bez nje: život u dva spola" (Without Her: A life in two genders) is the Croatian language edition of "She's Not There: A Life in Two Genders" by Jennifer Finney Boylan.

"When she changed genders, she changed the world. It was the groundbreaking publication of She's Not There in 2003 that jump-started the transgender revolution. By turns hilarious and deeply moving, Boylan – a cast member on I Am Cait; an advisor to the television series Transparent, and a contributing opinion writer for the New York Times -- explores the territory that lies between men and women, examines changing friendships, and rejoices in the redeeming power of love and family.

She's Not There was one of the first works to present trans experience from the perspective of a literary novelist, opening a door to new understanding of love, sex, gender, and identity. Boylan inspired readers to ask the same questions she asked herself: What is it that makes us---ourselves? What does it mean to be a man, or a woman? How much could my husband, or wife, change—and still be recognizable as the one I love?"
