A random collection of over 1910 books and audiobooks authored by or about my transgender, intersex sisters, and gender-nonconforming persons all over the world. I read some of them, and I was inspired by some of them. I met some of the authors and heroines, some of them are my best friends, and I had the pleasure and honor of interviewing some of them. If you know of any transgender biography that I have not covered yet, please let me know.
Full title: "Bodyshock: Truth About Changing Sex" by Liz Hodgkinson.
"Transsexualism is not a new phenomenon: male-to-female sex changes are mentioned in the literature of Ancient Greece and Rome. But only in the last forty years or so has medical science been able to achieve what those who feel they have been 'born into the wrong body regard as the only thing that will give them peace of mind, a full surgical sex change. In this investigation into the who, how and why of sex changes, Liz Hodgkinson tells the stories of some fascinating cases, some famous, others entirely unpublicized.
Gl George (later Christine) Jorgensen made headlines in the early fifties with his, the first fully documented operation to remove male sex organs and replace them with some approximation of female ones. Other household names include April Ashley, Jan Morris, Renée Richards and Adèle Anderson of Fascinating Aida' (the headlining cases have all been male-to-female changes: female-to-male subjects have normally shunned publicity, but some intriguing cases are here brought to light)."

"La mia vita con Dalí" (My life with Dalí) is the Italian language edition of "Le Dalí d'Amanda" (Amanda's Dalí) published in 1984.
Amanda Lear (born 1939) is a French singer, television celebrity, actress, and model, known for her professional career as a fashion model in the mid-1960s and being a muse of Spanish surrealist painter Salvador Dalí. The book tells about her relationship with Salvador Dalí and presents detailed insights into the 15 years of their relationship.
According to Wikipedia, Amanda's transgender background was confirmed by Salvador Dalí himself, and other well-known artists that used to know Lear earlier in her life. For example, April Ashley, a transgender icon and model, claimed that in the 1950s and early 1960s, Lear, whose birth name she stated was "Alain Tap", had worked with her in the Parisian transgender revues Madame Arthur and Le Carrousel. In her book April Ashley's Odyssey, Ashley recalls Lear performing drag acts under the stage name "Peki d'Oslo".

Full title: "In Search of Eve: Transsexual Rites of Passage" by Anne Bolin.
"In Search of Eve is an absorbing account of the sociocultural aspects of gender transition. . . . [Bolin] has produced a carefully crafted, clearly written monograph which scholars of both sexuality and gender can profitably read. I would recommend it also for upper-level students in such courses. The book contains many fascinating insights and new findings.
Contemporary Sociology"
"Anne Bolin illuminates the array of social, psychological and physical changes experienced by a group of people in the process of changing gender."

Original title: "Coccinelle par Coccinelle" (Coccinelle by Coccinelle). This is the only biography of Coccinelle written by herself.
The book is a biography of Jacqueline Charlotte Dufresnoy, also known by her stage name Coccinelle. She was a French actress, cabaret entertainer, and singer. She named herself Coccinelle (Ladybird), a tribute to a red dress with black polka dots that she often wore. She was born on August 23, 1931 in Paris, France and passed away on October 9, 2006 in Marseille, France.
She entered the French world of entertainment in 1953 at Madame Arthur and then at the Carrousel in Paris. This is when she met Bambi, another cabaret performer and legendary transgender icon. Coccinelle helped Bambi with her first performances and gave her shelter at her home.

Original title: "Le Saut de l'ange" (The Leap of the Angel). This is the first biography of Maud Marin.
'Is it possible to imagine the life of a man who hates his sex? The book is a terrifying diary of a person whose stigma of otherness casts a shadow over her whole life. The family does not "see" the problem. They stubbornly claim that Maud is a male person, despite the fact that she is more and more boldly declaring her femininity. Such behavior leads Maud to descend into the darkness of nightlife on the street - sex work and the criminal underworld.
After many years of humiliation, Maud manages to change gender. But this is only the beginning of the battle for a dignified life. After all, you have to change your birth certificate, get a job, arrange your life like a normal woman. Will she succeed?'

This is the Spanish language edition of "Mémoires de l'abbé de Choisy habillé en femme".
The first edition of the memoirs was published in ... 1736. Yes, it is not a joke. Since then, the memoirs have been published many times in many languages.
Let me quote the introduction from Goodreads: "By a whim of his mother, Francois Timoleon de Choisy—better known as the Abbé de Choisy—was dressed as a girl until the age of 18.
After a short spell in male attire he became, by all accounts, the classic transvestite - a male heterosexual who never attempted to disguise his biological sex while going about in public in full female attire. Choisy's fascination with feminine accouterments made him something of an expert on women's fashions, and prominent society women even brought their daughters to him for advice.
