Original title: "Transfrau? Ja, genau!: Auf dem Weg zu meiner Identität" (Trans woman? Yes, exactly!: On the way to my identity) by Ulrika Schöllner.
Ulrika Schöllner is a satisfied woman today. Born and raised as a boy, she did not know for a long time what caused her discomfort with her body and self. Family, children, career - actually a successful way of life. But there was always something in her life as a man that made her fundamentally doubt herself. Only late did she realize what had been tormenting her for so long. With her experience report, she not only describes her long process on the way to becoming a woman, but she also gives valuable advice to other transgender people and their companions.
Ulrika Schöllner was born in 1959 in Leipzig, Germany. Assigned male at birth, she grew up with freedom and peers in a nurturing middle-class household in East Germany. Her childhood was filled with wonderful experiences, followed by schooling, sports, and vocational training, all in Leipzig. In 1987, she embarked on a new chapter in her life in Bavaria, transitioning to her second life. As an IT consultant, she has achieved professional success, initially as a freelancer and now as an employee. Ulrika is a mother of two adult sons, resides by the beautiful Ammersee in Bavaria, and is an enthusiastic sailor.
Beyond her personal story, Ulrika is curious about various aspects of life. She enjoys photo shoots and has discovered an interest in being a “BestAgeModel”. She delves into medicine, particularly alternative and quantum medicine, as well as universal biology—a passion she had long suppressed. Additionally, she keeps an eye on politics. Life, she believes, is both fascinating and wonderful!
