A random collection of over 1910 books and audiobooks authored by or about my transgender, intersex sisters, and gender-nonconforming persons all over the world. I read some of them, and I was inspired by some of them. I met some of the authors and heroines, some of them are my best friends, and I had the pleasure and honor of interviewing some of them. If you know of any transgender biography that I have not covered yet, please let me know.

Christa Geibel - Im falschen Körper gefangen

Original title: "Im falschen Körper gefangen: Als Mann hieß sie Robert, als Frau heißt er Yvonne" (Trapped in the wrong body: As a man he was called Robert, as a woman she was called Yvonne).

She had to appear as a man and yet she was not a man - he wanted to live as a man and could not: the shocking report of a former transsexual woman. Society forces them to be ashamed of themselves. They struggle with their fate, which often leaves them with no way out.

They are desperate because they can hardly stand the dichotomy of their lives: transsexuals. Yvonne: He/she was born a man with all his physical attributes. But he/she thought, felt, felt like a woman: as a woman, she was a prisoner of a false body, half man, half woman: what madness!

The result: deep loneliness, hope, self-denial. The hope: a sex change, hormone injections. In the Federal Republic of Germany, hardly any transsexual manages the necessary operation. Robert/Yvonne did it, after long, bitter years.

Transsexuality and gender reassignment: a sensitive topic that is increasingly being discussed in public.
