A random collection of over 1910 books and audiobooks authored by or about my transgender, intersex sisters, and gender-nonconforming persons all over the world. I read some of them, and I was inspired by some of them. I met some of the authors and heroines, some of them are my best friends, and I had the pleasure and honor of interviewing some of them. If you know of any transgender biography that I have not covered yet, please let me know.

Nova Bastande & Oscar De La Hoz - NOVA. De niño a mujer

Original title: "NOVA. De niño a mujer" (Nova. From child to woman) by Nova Bastande and Oscar De La Hoz.

The story of Nova Bastante is a journey full of anecdotes, characters, and challenges, until reaching the desired realization of the goal, i.e. male to female transition. In the book, we make an intense journey through the life of a transgender activist, which is An authentic survival manual that brings light to the world of transsexuality.

From Richy Bastante to Nova, it is a unique case in the historical Spanish media. The whole country attended her change from boy to woman. It was a sex change televised and counted by chapters. It was a punk story of a small-town boy who becomes, with the tools at hand, the woman he wanted to be. A story also with nods to classic cinema. With 'Nova, de niño a mujer', Nova, with the help of her biographer, the journalist Oscar de la Hoz, reviews the past without duplicity and announces a firm footing future.

Nova Bastante, formerly known as Ricardo, is a fascinating individual whose journey has taken unexpected twists. Let’s delve into the intriguing story of this person: Richy Bastante: Initially, Richy Bastante gained prominence as the president of Yurena’s fan club during the “tamarismo” phenomenon. Yurena, also known as Tamara, was a singer who captured attention. Richy was a spirited character, unafraid to express himself, and even declared himself transgender later on.

Nova Bastante: As Nova, they embraced their identity as a transgender woman. Nova engaged in educational discussions about gender and transgender experiences. Their journey was marked by openness and a willingness to share their story. In April 2021, Nova announced a period of detransition and chose the name Izan. But the story didn’t end there. Recently, Nova decided to return to their original name, Ricardo. This detransition was accompanied by a profound spiritual transformation. Ricardo discovered faith and now advocates for chastity and moral living.

Ricardo’s appearance has transformed significantly. Gone are the days of makeup and flamboyance. Instead, he lives a life free from sin, without makeup, and evading fantasy. His YouTube channel, now renamed “Nueva ESPIRITUALIDAD,” reflects his new reality. It contains remnants of his past, including confrontations with La Veneno, TV interviews, and discussions about his autobiography, “Nova: De Niño a Mujer.” Ricardo’s journey - from Richy to Nova, then Izan, and finally Ricardo - has been a rollercoaster of identity exploration and spiritual awakening.
