Ashley T Brundage is the Founder and President of Empowering Differences. Her journey is one of resilience and empowerment. While seeking employment at a major financial institution, she faced harassment, discrimination, and homelessness. Despite these challenges, Ashley emerged as a powerful advocate for diversity and inclusion. Notably, Ashley is a transgender woman who overcame not only the obstacles related to her gender identity but also the missed opportunity to attend college due to her transition. Her journey encompasses themes of gender, education, ability, and religion.

Starting as a part-time teller, Ashley’s determination propelled her to become the National Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion within just five years. She encapsulated her four-step process of using empowerment to drive change in her book and online leadership course, both titled “Empowering Differences”. Ashley attributes her success to the support of those closest to her, including her two teenage sons, Bryce and Blake. Since beginning her transition in 2008, she has tirelessly worked to promote awareness and acceptance of gender identity and expression.

Her efforts include volunteering in the community and conducting education sessions for corporations. She serves on the Corporate Advisory Council for the NGLCC-National LGBT Chamber of Commerce. Ashley chaired the successful bid to host the NGLCC convention in 2019. Visit Tampa Bay named her their Tourism Champion for 2017. She serves on the board of the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts. In 2019, she was voted onto the National Board of Directors for GLAAD, an organization that accelerates acceptance for the LGBTQ+ community through media advocacy.

Ashley is a sought-after speaker, addressing topics such as her transition, workplace equality, leadership, change management, and empowerment.
