A random collection of over 1910 books and audiobooks authored by or about my transgender, intersex sisters, and gender-nonconforming persons all over the world. I read some of them, and I was inspired by some of them. I met some of the authors and heroines, some of them are my best friends, and I had the pleasure and honor of interviewing some of them. If you know of any transgender biography that I have not covered yet, please let me know.

Amanda Lear - Dalí глазами Аманды

"Dalí глазами Аманды" (Dalí through the eyes of Amanda)  is the Russian language edition of "Le Dalí d'Amanda" (Amanda's Dalí), published in 1984.

Amanda Lear (born 1939) is a French singer, television celebrity, actress, and model, known for her professional career as a fashion model in the mid-1960s and being a muse of Spanish surrealist painter Salvador Dalí. The book tells about her relationship with Salvador Dalí and presents detailed insights into the 15 years of their relationship.

According to Wikipedia, Amanda's transgender background was confirmed by Salvador Dalí himself, and other well-known artists that used to know Lear earlier in her life. For example, April Ashley, a transgender icon and model, claimed that in the 1950s and early 1960s, Lear, whose birth name she stated was "Alain Tap", had worked with her in the Parisian transgender revues Madame Arthur and Le Carrousel. In her book April Ashley's Odyssey, Ashley recalls Lear performing drag acts under the stage name "Peki d'Oslo".

Ralph Werther - Autobiography of an Androgyne

Full title: "Autobiography of an Androgyne" by Ralph Werther (Jennie June/Earl Lind).

Jennie June published The Autobiography of an Androgyne in 1918, making her one of the first transgender Americans to publicize her story. Her goal was to make her trials well known and to rally the support of Americans to create an accepting environment for young adults who do not necessarily adhere to gender and sexual norms. June also wanted to prevent her younger counterparts from committing suicide.

Her memoir explains that she identifies as a third sex, calling herself an "androgyne," and includes many personal narratives and details about her sexual encounters, and includes her story of castration. The memoir describes in detail her sexual encounters and desires, but also contains pleas for understanding and acceptance of these "fairies." Earl Lind (also known as Ralph Werther and Jennie June) is also the author of The Female Impersonators, first published in 1922, and then republished in  2005, 2008, 2018 (the main cover), 2020, 2021, and 2022.

Georg Preusse - Mary: Mein Leben in ihrem Schatten

Original title: "Mary: Mein Leben in ihrem Schatten" by Georg Preuße.

Georg Preuße lets us participate in his steep rise, his joys, his defeats, and his psyche. I have read some biographies and all of them have reflected a never-easy career. Apparently, this is a testimony of our world that one learns from pain, which Mr. Preuße also expresses in open words. But he also lets us participate in his joy, in his inner learning and searching, which never stops. It can also be very direct.

He is a perfectionist, sometimes melancholic, anxious, courageous, and also strong. He goes his own way and he now knows his limits, which he has not always observed. Precisely because he has explored womanhood within himself, although he feels himself to be a man, allows him to take a look at the power relations of the sexes, which remains closed to many others.
