A random collection of over 1910 books and audiobooks authored by or about my transgender, intersex sisters, and gender-nonconforming persons all over the world. I read some of them, and I was inspired by some of them. I met some of the authors and heroines, some of them are my best friends, and I had the pleasure and honor of interviewing some of them. If you know of any transgender biography that I have not covered yet, please let me know.

"What is transsexualism? Some estimates suggest that as many as 1 in 4,500 males may be transsexual and 1 in 8,000 females. Transsexualism is most commonly defined as the desire to live as the opposite sex accompanied by a wish to change the body to that preferred sex through surgery or hormone therapy.
The term was coined in the middle of the 20th Century, but there are many references to the phenomenon throughout history - from Ancient Greek mythology to Roman times. Anthropologists have found instances of transsexualism in most societies and cultures, including Native American tribes such as the Navajo who have words in their own language for transsexual men and women."

Full title: "The Kendra Brill Story" by Tess de Carlo.
Tess de Carlo’s The Kendra Brill Story (2017) is more than just a biography; it is a raw, unflinching chronicle of resilience, faith, and the pursuit of authenticity against systemic barriers. At its heart is Kendra Brill, a transgender woman whose life journey takes her through the toughest corners of the penitentiary and legal systems, chronicling both her struggles and her ultimate transformation.
Kendra’s path was never straightforward. Before embracing her identity as Kendra, she lived as William, a man who navigated addiction, prostitution, and incarceration. These experiences, as painful as they were, became stepping stones to the woman she knew she was meant to be. As she told The Heroines in an interview, “I went from being that sad and lonely William, that everyone knew and loved, to being Kendra, a strong and dependable woman.”
