With more than 245,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel and videos that reach over a million views, YouTuber Mandy Candy tells her story in a book.
Born in Gravataí, in Rio Grande do Sul, Amanda was born into a boy's body from which she always felt disconnected. She saved money and at the age of 19, with her mother's support, went to Thailand to have gender reassignment surgery.
On her YouTube channel, she talks, among other things, about feminism and gender identity, and is hugely popular among teenagers. In the book, Mandy tells everything about bullying, her transition phase and her journey to becoming one of the best-known YouTubers on the internet.
