A random collection of over 1910 books and audiobooks authored by or about my transgender, intersex sisters, and gender-nonconforming persons all over the world. I read some of them, and I was inspired by some of them. I met some of the authors and heroines, some of them are my best friends, and I had the pleasure and honor of interviewing some of them. If you know of any transgender biography that I have not covered yet, please let me know.

Cinzia Messina - Io sono io

Original title: "Io sono io" (I Am Me) by Cinzia Messina.

The book can neither be called a novel nor an essay. Perhaps we could call it an adventure book, although nothing has to do with prairies and forests, enchanted castles, or journeys into infinity. In fact, it is a real and very human adventure and its heroine is a real person, made of flesh, fragility, and emotions, whose battlefield is not the infinite horizon of the imaginary but the life assumed both in everyday life and in its absolute meanings.

The heroine is called Greta, and she is a very young transgender girl whose story is told by Cinzia, her mother, in minute reconstructions of days and feelings, emotions, and projects. The book is, therefore, testimony and "travel diary", rich in the bittersweet flavor we give the name of life, but without ever giving in to pietism, consolations, or self-satisfaction: it presents the facts, often, through the filter of irony.
