A random collection of over 1910 books and audiobooks authored by or about my transgender, intersex sisters, and gender-nonconforming persons all over the world. I read some of them, and I was inspired by some of them. I met some of the authors and heroines, some of them are my best friends, and I had the pleasure and honor of interviewing some of them. If you know of any transgender biography that I have not covered yet, please let me know.

Jeanette Schmid - Ich pfeif' auf alles...!

Original title: "Ich pfeif' auf alles...!: Das Leben der Kunstpfeiferin Baronesse Lips von Lipstrill" (I don't give a damn...!: The life of the artistic whistler Baroness Lips von Lipstrill) by Jeanette Schmid

I found this interesting bio note in one of the Amazon reviews: "Jeanette Schmid was born in 1924 as Rudolf Schmid in today's Czech Republic. While his peers climbed trees, Klein-Rudi prefers to play with dolls and dress up as a girl. He likes to sing well. He entertains his surroundings with theatre and dance performances.

In 1941 he was drafted into the Wehrmacht and stationed in Italy. Due to his appearance, he does not really correspond to the Aryan ideal and gets one or the other male courtships. After suffering from typhus, he returns to his family in the Sudetenland in a roundabout way, only to flee from the reprisals of the Czechs shortly after the end of the war.

Monika Donner - Tiger in High Heels: Zweimal Käfig und zurück

Full title: "Tiger in High Heels. Warum ich in unserer Idiotengesellschaft als Frau leben muss" (Tigers in high heels. Why I have to live as a woman in our idiot society)

She lives officially as a woman - without gender reassignment. She fought for this right legally for all people. She put an end to state coercion, which treated men with this disposition as "life worthless" and forced many to undergo sex reassignment, which they themselves regard as mutilation. The right that has been won applies to both sexes, including women who want to live as men. But her fight isn't over - and she has a lot to say...

Sharp and precise, but at the same time soulful, spiritual, and entertaining, Monika Donner describes how she found herself and her freedom. Courageously and proudly, she takes the essential path for all of us: finally being human again!

Johanna E. - Das Tagebuch der Johanna E.

Original title: "Das Tagebuch der Johanna E.: trans. schamlos. direkt" (The Diary of Johanna E.: trans. shameless. direct) by Johanna E.

The book is an autobiography of Johanna E. who knows no limits. "She is brave, she is naïve, she is torn. She goes her own way." 'I never want sex again. I swear to God.' When the transsexual Johanna E. receives a diary from her client, she begins to write everything from her soul. Marked by the painful experience of being different, she shares her disturbing experiences, her dreams, and her questions about life: How can the sperm of three men stick to her - and at the same time she craves the one man who stands by her? Through Facebook, she meets an Afghan refugee. He calls her Aisha, by her Muslim name. But then her fiancé from Cairo, who was believed to be missing, gets in touch..."
