A random collection of over 1910 books and audiobooks authored by or about my transgender, intersex sisters, and gender-nonconforming persons all over the world. I read some of them, and I was inspired by some of them. I met some of the authors and heroines, some of them are my best friends, and I had the pleasure and honor of interviewing some of them. If you know of any transgender biography that I have not covered yet, please let me know.

Micha Ela - Ich bin ich: Mein transsexuelles Leben

Original title: "Ich bin ich: Mein transsexuelles Leben" (I'm me: My transsexual life)

Micha Ela tells her life story as a transsexual woman. As a gay boy in the northern German provinces, "Michi" experienced all the problems of being gay in society in the 1980s. The foster family in which Michi is growing up wants to cure him of his "disease" by committing him to a psychiatric ward. He then ends up in a youth center in Osnabrück and experiences his coming out here, still very naive.

After graduating from high school, Michael worked as a dancer in various theaters until he finally realized that he was actually a dancer and therefore no longer wanted to dance male roles. As a prima ballerina, however, he did not get an engagement, left the theater and from then on danced as a travesty artist in the cabaret of his then partner on Lake Constance.
