We all know that boys have a penis, while girls don't. But in my case, and many other transgenders out there in society, it happens every day. We have something called gender dysphoria, a feeling, and experience that we belong to the opposite sex. Or to speak in a more correct way - My gender identity is female, while I was born with the legal gender male."

"I was born with a penis that boys have. My life has been built around a role. A role as a boy, a man, which for so many years I have tried to prove to society. That is not true. I'm a girl, a woman. I and many with me, live in situations like transgenders, transsexuals, gender-crossing. And we, unlike many others in society, have to prove that we are not what you think we are."

Mina Rudin is a Swedish author, businesswoman, LGBTQ lecturer, and the founder of Withe Security.
