A random collection of over 1910 books and audiobooks authored by or about my transgender, intersex sisters, and gender-nonconforming persons all over the world. I read some of them, and I was inspired by some of them. I met some of the authors and heroines, some of them are my best friends, and I had the pleasure and honor of interviewing some of them. If you know of any transgender biography that I have not covered yet, please let me know.

Kirstie Mcewan - Just One Letter

Full title: "Just One Letter: My Journey from M to F" by Kirstie Mcewan.

"This is the story of my life from my earliest memories to the present day. I am male to female transsexual and as such have led a life of many ups and downs, most notably spending the best part of 50 years in total denial of my condition.

I start my story on the day I told my wife why our marriage had been such a sham for the previous 5 years and admit that I am transsexual. The book progresses on two paths. The first describes my early childhood and development into an adult, getting married and having children. The second path describes my journey of transition following the disclosure to my wife. It details the process up to and including my Sex Reassignment Surgery in January 2010."

"It finishes with my receipt of a Gender Recognition Certificate and the issue of the new Birth Certificate with that all-important change of sex, which had been altered from the M on my original birth certificate to F on my new certificate thereby correcting the error at my birth and giving the book its appropriate title. The book was edited in 2016 to remove typographical errors and updated to include a new final chapter."

According to the Institute of Sexology, "Kirstie Mcewan is a registered member of BACP and a Pink Therapy Accredited Gender, Sex and Relationship Diversities Therapist. Kirstie works as both a general counsellor and a specialist psychosexual psychotherapist in private practice. Before training in counselling, Kirstie spent 32 years in the construction and development industry as a Project Manager and Health and Safety advisor/trainer. She owned and ran her own consultancy for five years before joining a medium-sized architectural practice, achieving the position of Regional and Main Board Director.

Kirstie describes spending most of her life feeling incomplete. She knew that, in living the life of a man, she was not being true either to herself or to her family. She started her journey of transition when she was 50 and completed this five years later. She now lives a happy and fulfilling life. It was her own experiences during the process of transition which drew her to therapy as a new profession; one which she has fully embraced. As part of her therapeutic healing, she wrote her autobiography “Just One Letter”, which was published in November 2011. She has a special interest in gender and sexual diversity, a topic which is close to her heart in relation to her own individual journey in life."
