A random collection of over 1910 books and audiobooks authored by or about my transgender, intersex sisters, and gender-nonconforming persons all over the world. I read some of them, and I was inspired by some of them. I met some of the authors and heroines, some of them are my best friends, and I had the pleasure and honor of interviewing some of them. If you know of any transgender biography that I have not covered yet, please let me know.

Jorge L. Peralta & Others - Memorias, identidades...

Original title: "Memorias, identidades y experiencias trans: (In)visibilidades entre Argentina y España" (Memories, identities and trans experiences: (In)visibilities between Argentina and Spain) by Jorge Luis Peralta and Rafael M. Mérida Jiménez.

"Visible but, at the same time, invisible: this paradoxical condition has marked and continues to mark the existence of trans people. Consequently, the reconstruction of possible genealogies comes up against a certain void in terms of representations, especially if they are first-person accounts, not mediated by an "other" alien to the social and sexual reality of transvestites, transsexuals and transgenders.

This book aims to offer an interdisciplinary look at the trans universe in Argentina and Spain from the 1960s to the beginning of this millennium. The aim is to contribute to the rescue and recovery of voices and experiences, both through textual and sociological analysis or historiographical reconstruction, as well as testimonies that illuminate, in the first person, the various itineraries of transvestism, transsexuality, and transgenderism.

Christoph Imhof - Living the Opposite Sex

Full title: "Living the Opposite Sex: Trans Journeys in Southern Spain" by Christoph Imhof.

"Studying the life situations of trans persons reveals preceding and ongoing political, societal and cultural transformations. This ethnographic study concerns individuals in Andalusia, Southern Spain, who do not fit the sex and gender assigned to them at birth. Christoph Imhof thus investigates issues leading back to the repressive situation during the dictatorship of Franco and to contemporary endeavours and achievements regarding acceptance, citizenship and self-determination.

He highlights the pioneering role that Andalusia has played within Spain regarding trans issues since the late 1990s and shows how trans persons in Southern Spain have experienced the growing social, medical and legal acceptance of their gender non-conformity."

Eva Vildosola Leo - Me llamo Eva: Mi lucha por ser mujer

Original title: "Me llamo Eva: Mi lucha por ser mujer" (My name is Eva: My struggle to be a woman) by Eva Vildosola Leo.

Eva was born in the wrong body and didn't know why until she was eleven and first heard the term "gender dysphoria." From a very young age, she endured the incomprehension and intransigence of a society that drowns us with its impositions. After publicly denouncing an attack last year in Barcelona, the life of the well-known influencer turned upside down.

Her face began to appear in all the newspapers and televisions and thousands of people showed their support on social networks. In this book, she shares for the first time her life story and how she decided to become the woman she always wanted to be. This is a real testimony, which gives us the possibility of knowing through their eyes what it is like to grow up surrounded by prejudices.

Eduardo Mendicutti - Una mala noche la tiene cualquiera

Original title: "Una mala noche la tiene cualquiera" (Anyone has a bad night) by Eduardo Mendicutti.

A moving story about one of the worst days for freedom and democracy in Spain, on the 40th anniversary of 23-F, the 1981 Spanish coup d'état attempt (Spanish: Intento de Golpe de Estado de España de 1981), known in Spain by the numeronym 23-F and also known as the Tejerazo, which was an attempted coup d'état or putsch in Spain on 23 February 1981.

This is the story of La Madelón, an Andalusian transgender woman, a supportive, talkative, tender, and lucid woman that broke down on the night of February 23, 1981. From that historic moment, La Madelón panics at the possibility of returning to what was before, of losing the freedoms that cost so many years and suffering. Enveloped by the exuberant speech of the people of the South, here are their adventures of that night, their occurrences, and their memories of other times.

Selena Milán - Transapariencia: Soy Selena y soy una chica trans

Original title: "Transapariencia: Soy Selena y soy una chica trans" (Transparency: I'm Selena and I'm a trans girl) by Selena Milán.

The first Spanish trans influencer who came out of the closet in the network tells how it has been the most important process of her life.

Just like me, there are many children who want to start their transition, who are clear about who they are and what their gender identity is but do not know how to start with the process or even how to share it with their family. It's a difficult road and sometimes a lot of obstacles get in the way, but it's always worth it. I can attest to that.

Pierrot - Memorias Trans: Transexuales, transformistas...

Original title: "Memorias Trans: Transexuales, transformistas y travestis" (Trans memories. Transsexuals, transformistas and transvestites),

This book collects for the first time the personal testimony of men and women, mostly renowned artists from the world of entertainment, with a common denominator: these strong personalities fight against discrimination and repressive laws and claim the free exercise of sexuality and affection among people.

Discover some facts that will give you the essential keys to understanding how unusual characters lived with their triumphs and failures in a constant challenge to the most overflowing imagination.

The actor-showman Pierrot, an undisputed figure for more than two decades in the main shows of Barcelona, Madrid, Bilbao, and Seville, has been for thirty years compiling interviews and graphic material that are collected with all sincerity and crudeness in this historical book.

Daniela Requena - Mamá, soy mujer: Diario de una chica trans

Original title: "Mamá, soy mujer: Diario de una chica trans" (Mom, I'm a woman: Diary of a Trans Girl)

The journalist and influencer who has conquered TikTok reveals all the details of her transition. Despite not having any references, Daniela always felt that she wanted to be and show herself as a woman. In time, she understood what was happening: she was a woman.

Not without some difficulties, she has managed to stay true to herself at all times. Today, however, she is aware that the road would have been much easier – it would be for all those who are living it now. If only there were more voices willing to break the taboo of trans reality.

With the humor and self-confidence that characterize her, Daniela tells us in first person what the childhood, adolescence, and youth of a trans person is like, which means addressing the transition, prejudices, and ignorance that still persist in this world.

Manuela Trasobares - Voluntad de poder

Original title: "Voluntad de poder " (Will of Power)

The book consists of two distinct parts, one historical and the other autobiographical, which narrates the intimacy of Manuela's childhood, in an attempt to settle the current controversy over whether children should have the right to decide their gender.

With lucid and early memories, she affirms that in childhood one can have a very clear identity, although some adults insist on imposing their prejudices.

Manuela Trasobares was born in Figueres in the province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. She is an opera singer, painter, sculptor, and philosopher who was soaked with artistic influences from her childhood, such as the moments with Salvador Dalí in Cadaqués, who gave her first lessons in drawing, optics, theater, and quantum physics. Dalí infused her with the surrealist perspective to analyze life, society, and art.

Ernesto Rubio Sanchez - La torre de marfil

Original title: "La torre de marfil: Experiencias de una niña transexual" (The Ivory Tower: Experiences of a Transgender Girl) by Ernesto Rubio Sánchez.

Antonio Manuel, a ten-year-old boy, feels like a girl. In 1983, a decade still anchored in the animosity of Franco's repression, living inside a male body is a daily ordeal for him. Suppressing his desire for toys, clothes and ways to be considered as a girl bring him behavior problems in an educational system, lacking in pedagogy and in a home with parents and a sister who does not accept him as a girl.

His life is a constant struggle to be and pretend to be in a society that offers no response other than discrimination and rejection. Can he overcome the obstacles? Will he find someone with an open mind who understands him and helps him come up with a solution? Accompany Antonio Manuel in his fight to overcome the mental rigidity of a time when being "different" was synonymous with pariah.
